Services History Facility Members

Welcome to WAG's official electronic home!
We're a non-profit agility club full of hard-working, experienced volunteers who proudly offer a variety of Training and Competitive opportunities in a spacious, clean, conveniently-located training center about 1 hour SW of Milwaukee and 1 hour NW of Chicago. Classes are open to the public and we welcome new students of all levels from beginner to advanced, big to little dogs, all breeds and mixed breeds.

Whether you want to train just for fun or competition too,
you will find WAG has something for you!

Classes Trials Matches Ring Rental Private Lessons

Classes
WAG offers a variety of classes 4 nights and 2 days per week including Puppy, Foundation, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Class sessions consist of 8 weeks of 1-hour sessions. Classes are open to both WAG members and the general public. Pre-registration is required.

Trials
WAG is currently licensed to hold licensed UKC, CPE and AKC Trials. We host about multiple CPE & UKC and 3 AKC trials annually.

Matches
WAG periodically holds Fun Matches/Run Thrus almost monthly. Handlers are allowed to use food and train in the ring. All breeds and mixed breeds are welcome.

Ring Rental
The WAG training facility is available for Ring Rental to both members and non-members on an availability basis. Pre-registration is required and a ring-watcher will be present.

Private Lessons
Some of our instructors offer Private Lessons on a time and facility availability basis. Instructors have experience with all handler experience levels and a wide variety of breeds.

WAG was founded in 1999 by former instructors and students from the Four Paws Training Center (now Fosters) in Antioch Illinois, a successful agility program that had been in existence for over four years. When Four Paws decided to return to its roots as an obed- ience training center, WAG members sprang into action and started their own club.

In its 'Four Paws' days, WAG started with a focus on UKC agility. Students and instructors now compete successfully in UKC, AKC, NADAC, and USDAA agility and learn skills that apply to all styles of agility.

For our first two class sessions, WAG operated in a 5000 square foot training center in McHenry, Illinois, near the intersection of Route 31 South and Route 120. In January of 2000, we relocated to our new permanent home in Spring Grove, Illinois, located just north of Route 12 west of Spring Grove road. Our new facility is an 8700 square foot newly constructed building with about 7000 square feet of matted working area.

WAG is currently licensed to hold both UKC and AKC agility trials. AKC trials are scheduled a couple times a year and UKC trials are held more frequently. Check out our WAG Events and Calendar web pages for more information.

Located near the Wisconsin and Illinois border, the WAG Training Center is easily accessible from the Chicago, Rockford, Racine, Kenosha, Milwaukee and Madison areas. Situated in an industrial park just off of Highway 12, the building features outdoor exercise pens and plenty of parking in a surrounding paved lot. The interior is well-lit and climate-controlled year-round featuring a large gated ring with chairs along two sides for spectators. Also known as "WAGsters", our members span a geographical area from Milwaukee to Chicago to Rockford. WAG is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. The Officers and Committees keep WAG running smoothly and the Instructors keep classes challenging and fun. WAG members pay an annual member fee and must meet volunteer work requirements. In return, WAGsters enjoy perks such as early Class Registration, WAG'n Tales (the quarterly newsletter), discounted Ring Rental, Seminar and Class Fees, etc. For information on joining WAG, Policies and Procedures, member listings, etc., visit the Members web page.
